Un libro del que después puedas ver la película

Chuck Palahniuk vive en Oregon y en un viaje a acampar tuvo un altercado con otro campista que le dejó un ojo morado. Cuando volvió de vacaciones nadie en su trabajo se atrevió a preguntarle que le había ocurrido por miedo a que la respuesta fuera algo incomodo. Esto lo inspiró a escribir Fight Club que, con un final diferente, se volvería una película de culto en los 2000.

Just finished this book... I can believes it's taken me all these years to get round to reading it, I absolutely loved it, makes me wanna watch the film all over again... I vaguely remember reading the first few chapters years ago but don't quite me on that, it just felt very similar when I started reading it this time, I'm not sure at all what stopped me from reding the whole this, who knows... Muchas de las innovaciones tecnológicas que hoy damos por hecho como la computadora personal con interfaz gráfica y los smart-phones con pantallas de vidrio se las debemos a Steve Jobs.

Desde su obsesión por crear productos fantásticos fundó Apple y Pixar pero el cáncer de páncreas lo venció y dejó en manos de Tim Cook y John Lasseter la tarea de perpetuar su visión.

So I don't read a ton of biographies or non-fiction, but I dabble on occasion. I had this book for about five years and felt like I should read it but always thought it looks so fat and that I would be bored so I never started it. . Well, I had to read it for the podcast, so I finally jumped in and I'm so glad I did. This book is long, but I found it to be riveting. The writing is engaging, and I was so captivated by the different stories from his life that I couldn't stop. I never thought a biography could be such a page turner. I also loved reading about the stuff that neither of the movies about his life has tackled: the iPod/iPhone development and his role at Pixar. . With two movies about Jobs, I thought this subject would be fully covered but now I would love nothing more than an 8-hour HBO miniseries that covers some of the details in here. If you're at all interested in Jobs, or technology, or innovation, or charismatic personalities, this is a must read. Not to mention profound as Jobs tried to cope with his approaching death. Highly recommend this one.

Roger Casement trató de evitar que sus compatriotas irlandeses se levantaran en armas aquella Pascua de 1916 porque estaba convencido que si Alemania no distraía a Inglaterra la Rebelión que buscaba la independencia de Irlanda sería un fracaso.

El Sueño del Celta es la biografía de Casement y nos narra de manera paralela sus expediciones al Congo y al Putumayo y las horas previas a cumplir su sentencia de muerte.

Aquel que le anunció a su madre que estaba embarazada de Jesús lo acompañó siempre. Desde que el día de su nacimiento le llevó pan que amasó con sus manos y coció con el fuego que solo hay adentro de la tierra hasta que con el mismo cuenco con el que María lo alimentó recogió su sangre en la cruz.

Viene entonces Saramago y el Evangelio Según Jesucristo. Desde que lo empiezas a leer te das cuenta porqué es una obra tan polémica, sobre todo para los que nacieron y se educaron en el catolicismo. Hermosa eso sí, con ese estilo tan particular que caracteriza a José Saramago. #saramago #evangeliosegunjesucristo
